Terms of Use - BOSS Squad Money Adventures Workbook
Last updated: October 16, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using the BOSS Squad Money Adventures Workbook (the "workbook"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If a grown-up is setting this up for a child, "you" refers to that parent or guardian, who is responsible for the child's use of the workbook. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the workbook.
2. About this workbook
The workbook is an interactive companion to The Mall Trap, published by Financial BOSS, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. It is a separate product from the main financial-boss.org website and has its own Terms of Use (this page) and Privacy Notice, which take precedence over the main site's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy for anything related to the workbook.
3. Who this is for, and parental responsibility
This workbook is designed for children ages 8-12, used together with a parent or guardian, as well as adults using Adult Mode for themselves. Because children under 13 generally cannot enter into a binding agreement, a parent or guardian must accept these Terms of Use on behalf of any child using the workbook, and is responsible for supervising that use. Access to the workbook - the Mall Mission, Spot the Trap, My Fun Budget, the four jars, the discussion questions, the printables, and the BOSS Certificate - requires a completed one-time $20 purchase made by a grown-up using their own email address and payment details. No part of the workbook can be used before that purchase is complete; see our Privacy Notice for details.
4. Educational content disclaimer
The workbook is for general educational and informational purposes only. It is not intended as, and should not be construed as:
- Professional financial advice, investment advice, or tax advice
- A substitute for consultation with qualified financial professionals
- A guarantee of specific financial outcomes or results
The workbook teaches foundational money concepts - earning, saving, spending, and donating - through a fictional story and simple activities. It does not process real money, real bank accounts, or real transactions of any kind; all dollar amounts entered are for practice only. Individual financial decisions should be made in consultation with appropriate licensed professionals based on your specific circumstances.
5. No guarantee of results
While we designed the workbook to build financial confidence and healthy money habits, we make no guarantees regarding specific outcomes. What a child or adult takes away from using it depends on many factors, including how it's used and individual circumstances.
6. Accounts and saving your progress
An account tied to the purchaser's email address is created at checkout, and that account is what's required to use the workbook, on any device, going forward. Signing in with that email restores access and the saved goal, entries, and answers. We store limited information as described in our Privacy Notice. You can delete stored data at any time from the Grown-up settings screen.
7. Payment and refunds
Access to the workbook is a one-time payment of $20 per child - no subscription, no refunds - processed securely through our payment processor. There is no free tier or trial: every part of the workbook requires a completed purchase (or a redeemed gift code). We do not store your payment card details.
All purchases are final. We do not offer refunds, except where required by law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at privacy@financial-boss.org and we'll look into it.
8. Content you or your child enter
The workbook lets you type free-text content into certain fields - a goal name, notes on money-move entries, and answers to activities and discussion questions. Please don't enter anyone's full name, address, phone number, school name, or other information that could identify or locate a specific person, beyond the first name or nickname the workbook asks for. You retain ownership of what you type; you're giving us permission only to display it back to you within the workbook (for example, on your printable BOSS Certificate or BOSS Plan), not to publish or share it elsewhere. We can remove content we believe violates these terms.
9. Certificates and printable materials
The BOSS Certificate and BOSS Plan generated by the workbook are for personal recognition and fun - they are not an official credential, accreditation, or financial qualification of any kind.
10. Acceptable use
When using the workbook, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information in any field that asks for it (like a parent/guardian email)
- Not use the workbook for any unlawful or harmful purpose
- Not attempt to access another user's account or stored data
- Not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or scrape the workbook
- Not misrepresent your affiliation with Financial BOSS
11. Intellectual property
All content in the workbook - including text, characters (August, Maya, Jayden, Zoe, and Coach Cash), illustrations, the BOSS Squad name and logo, activity design, and code - is the property of Financial BOSS or its licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may print your own certificate, plan, and bonus printables for personal or classroom use, but may not otherwise reproduce, distribute, or modify our content without written permission.
12. Termination and data deletion
You can stop using the workbook, or delete saved data, at any time - see the Grown-up settings screen or contact privacy@financial-boss.org. We may suspend or terminate access for anyone who violates these terms.
13. External links
The workbook may link to external sites, such as financial-boss.org or our book's purchase page. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party site. Linking does not imply endorsement.
14. Limitation of liability
Financial BOSS shall not be liable for any damages arising from your use of the workbook or reliance on any information it provides. This includes, but is not limited to, direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
15. Changes to these terms
We may modify these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. If a change affects how we collect or use a child's data, we will seek new parental consent before it applies to existing accounts, as described in our Privacy Notice. Continued use of the workbook after a change is posted constitutes acceptance of that change for general terms.
